Ohhhh... you posted two more contacts while I was writing my last post. Thank you. You are so generous with your time.

I love community support programs. Makes me proud to be part of such a great community.

Sequoia Healthcare District did not create Peninsula Family Service. As an Elected Director of the District, I have a responsibility to see that property taxes collected in the district, benefit residents of the district. The $1,544,000 paid to PFS to manage the 70 Strong program is only marginally beneficial to district residents.

So Hickey -- when you're not writing ridiculous posts like these, what EXACTLY do you do with your time?

I also have great admiration for my neighbors supporting strong community through thoughtful programs such as these.

Thank heavens we don't live in the type of community populated with selfish cranks that would eliminate programs like these. Or with morons that would vote for a budget that eliminates the arts or Meals on wheels.

Did you know that half a million Vets receive support from meals on wheels?

Sequoia Healthcare District should be dissolved.

Jack Hickey -- "Sequoia Healthcare District should be dissolved."

Why? You've spent a good deal of your life sponging off of them...

According to the last MSR of LAFCo, the SHD has a "transitional" sphere of influence which can only be resolved by:
a. expansion and consolidation with PHCD to include the entire county(which can be done with no new taxes, in my opinion), or;
b. Dissolution
A new MSR due soon, should shed light on the district's operations, and bring about an election.

And once again, Hickey, all you show with your posts is "I have nuthin' -- guess I'll throw some stuff on the wall and see if it works..."

I am heartened by the community response. Just shows to go ya... there are two type of people in this world:

A - the "get off of my lawn" screamers

and

B - Nice People.

This is not an appropriate use of Sequoia Healthcare District property tax dollars.

Expenses related to you being on the board are not an appropriate use of taxpayer monies, Hickey...

What about these expenses:
ACHD annual meeting Web Link to be attended by 4 Sequoia Healthcare District Directors(Kane, Griffin, Faro and Shefren), CEO Lee Michelson, and Pamela Kurtzman, Director of Programs and Grants.
Registration total: $4,000.

Travel, hotel, meals, etc. not included! Past experience shows how much these junkets can cost. See:Web Link

ACHD is an anachronism for Association of California Healthcare Districts which collects annual dues from it's member districts. Web Link It is a lobbying organization whose primary purpose is to protect it's members from Grand Jury recommendations and LAFC0 Municipal Service Reviews. These have suggested that districts which have "sold" the hospitals for which voters originally created the districts should be dissolved.

It was designed for PFS, a multi-county non-profit agency. It is being paid for by taxpayers of Sequoia Healthcare District, which comprises ~1/3 of San Mateo County.
