When this many trees come down at once, it is not just the canopy, green and living plants that get destroyed but the supply of food, shelter, protection, and habitat for the birds and other animals that call trees their home and roosting areas. If the trees are taken down soon, there will inevitably be bird chicks and other animal families that will get killed in the process since the nesting season has begun. I wonder if any of this gets taken into consideration when decisions like these are made or are these creatures and their families considered dispensable along with the trees. I guess the answer is clear in this case.
