Occupied Portola Valley home burglarized; culprits escape

San Mateo County sheriff's deputies are looking for two people in connection with a burglary of an occupied home in the 100 block of Wayside Road in Portola Valley that occurred at about 11 a.m. Thursday (March 2).

How does breaking and entering, grabbing something and then fleeing constitute "home invasion"? Sounds like burglary to me.

We had signed up for alerts from the SMC sheriff & didn't get an alert until the next day. If the alert had come on Thursday am maybe someone might have seen the red car. Any chance the alerts could be more efficient ?
