Carrie Du Bois, president of the Sequoia Union High School District Board of Trustees said: “She doesn’t have any experience. She didn’t go to public schools. Her children didn’t go to public schools. She’s not supportive of public schools and her track record and philosophies are that she’s not supportive of public schools."
She heads up the Department of Education, not the "Department of Public Schools". Education can take place in many venues. The key here is to facilitate choice. She will do that. See: Web Link
San Mateo County Superintendent of schools, Anne Campbell, said:
“Public schools are at the very foundation of our country’s belief system and our nation’s success,”
There you have it. A clear violation of the 1st Amendment to our Constitution!
What is "...our country's belief system..."? Secular Humanism? Isn't that a religion? You betcha!
That is why we need choice in education, and a review of compulsory attendance laws.
