Menlo Park: Police nab 13-year-old boy driving stolen car

Menlo Park Police are investigating whether a 13-year-old driver and his three passengers, whom officers detained on Saturday, Jan. 14, for driving a car reported stolen, are connected to a string of recent burglaries in and around Menlo Park.

How I wish they could publish photos of the kids. I wonder if they are the same ones that I saw a few weeks back, first parked at the end of Nathorst, and then pulled over on the side of the road at the bottom of Westridge.

I would be able to identify them.

PVNeighbor: it probably would suffice to publish the name and picture of the 21 year old in the car. If a 21 year old told the 13 year old they shouldn't be "stupid kids" and drive a stolen car - this probably wouldn't have happened. Instead - it wouldn't surprise me if they were trying to impress him with the feat, and he egged them on. Publish the name of this guy, and keep the younger ones far away from him. It's easier to get a 13 year old back on the right track, than a 21 year old; that's why they don't publish the kids' names.

You could simply call the number listed and offer to come by the police station to help ID them.
