Portola Valley: New baker for farmers' market knows art, science of bread-making

In a tiny village in central France where Portola Valley resident Fiona Strouts' parents live, the arrival of the baker and his cargo of homemade bread tends to infuse the air with excitement. Ms. Strouts may do the same for her hometown.
