Kudos to the Menlo Park City Council! They were wise is wanting to exhaust their administrative efforts first by reaching out in a friendly way, requesting information. Unlike Atherton that jumped the gun by threatening an expensive consultant's report costing up to $50,000, Menlo Park plans to send a letter outlining the questions they would like answered. It's weird on the approach that Atherton choose to take. Atherton may learn something by seeing how their neighbor went about the identical issue. Yes, transparency is important, but shouldn't one talk and discuss things before they bring in the big guns, like lawyers, consultants and other high priced individuals?
