"Theft: A woman told deputies that, while attending a pool party of some 200 guests at a home in the 2800 block of Woodside Road, someone stole her purse from an unlocked pool house. Estimated loss: $5,300. Sept. 24."

It's pretty dumb to leave your purse in an unlocked pool house at a party with 200 guests. Leaving your purse with more than $5,000 in it, is, well... you know.

that's why it is so entertaining to read the police calls. People do NOT use their heads. Why would you need that type of money at a party?????

Guys:

there are purses that cost that much or more. She may not have had that much cash in her purse. Agree it's dumb to leave valuables unsecured like that.

SteveC -

I enjoy reading the police reports. There's always someone in Atherton reporting a suspicious person and phones stolen out of unlocked cars in Palo Alto.
