NewsWeek: Trump's Conflicts of Interest in Saudi Arabia, Korea, Russia, India, Turkey and more

Original post made by Raul, Atherton: other, on Sep 14, 2016

The detailed explanations take several pages - too long for most Trump followers to read and understand. Thus, they will ignore the information about the dictators and criminals included in the report as well as whine about the librul media. using "factz n' stuff".

Web Link

"… without a permanent departure of the entire Trump family from their company, the prospect of legal bribery by overseas powers seeking to influence American foreign policy, either through existing or future partnerships, will remain a reality throughout a Trump presidency."

"Many foreign governments retain close ties to and even control of companies in their country, including several that already are partnered with the Trump Organization. Any government wanting to seek future influence with President Trump could do so by arranging for a partnership with the Trump Organization, feeding money directly to the family or simply stashing it away inside the company for their use once Trump is out of the White House."

"None of Trump’s overseas contractual business relationships examined by Newsweek were revealed in his campaign’s financial filings with the Federal Election Commission, nor was the amount paid to him by his foreign partners.

Trump’s financial filings also indicate he is a shareholder or beneficiary of several overseas entities, including Excel Venture LLC in the French West Indies and Caribusiness Investments SRL, based in the Dominican Republic, one of the world’s tax havens."

But, hey folks, Trump is in it for the little guy!

I'll give it to Trump; build a base of haters so angry they don't care about how bad he is, just that he will build a (useless) wall, attack Muslims, gays, Mexicans and through Trump's birtherism, attack THAT president on race.

He will almost pull it off, too (will end within 7 points.) That's scary. Political Science classes will be re-written. And America will have a stain on it's political system for a long time until the Republican Party expunges it's haters.

In my read, I beleive the issues with Korea, while amazingingly inept by Trump, pale in camparison to the Saudi hatred, and more so with Turkey:

"In other words, Trump would be in direct financial and political conflict with Turkey from the moment he was sworn into office. Once again, all his dealings with Turkey would be suspect: Would Trump act in the interests of the United States or his wallet? When faced with the prospect of losing the millions of dollars that flow into the Trump Organization each year from that Istanbul property, what position would President Trump take on the important issues involving Turkish-American relations, including that country’s role in the fight against ISIS?"

Erdogan HATES Trump. And Turkey is crucially important.

Does anyone see Trump foregoing millions of dollars because of the opinion of someone who hates him?

Me neither. If you disagree, give an example of when he has done similar.

Remember this is the guy who still sends pictures of his small to average hands to his detractors with a sharpie saying "See?!?! BIG hands!"

"The most recent offering arrived earlier this year, before his decision to go after the Republican presidential nomination. Like the other packages, this one included a circled hand and the words, also written in gold Sharpie: "See, not so short!" I sent the picture back by return mail with a note attached, saying, "Actually, quite short." Which I can only assume gave him fits."

Wow.

Since the media has so soft on Trump, let's let a real foreign policy pro ask some questions of Trump and his conflicts of interest. From one candidate to another:

"Here are 20 questions that Trump needs to answer—now."

1. Will you sever ties with your company linked to foreign leaders, questionable organizations, and criminals if you become president?

2. How will you handle non-cancelable contractual obligations with parties whose interests conflict with those of the United States?

3. While refusing to release your tax returns, how will you confirm that you do not have dangerous financial ties to bad actors abroad?

4. If you were willing to work with Qaddafi—a known terrorist and dictator—is there anyone you aren't willing to make a deal with? Who?

5. How can you be tough on Iran, given your business partnership with someone connected to Iranian money laundering?

6. Given that you've already questioned our commitments to NATO allies, what is your answer to this? (see tweet with clipping)

7. To what extent would your foreign policy be dictated by potential financial benefits for your business partners?

8. Will you disclose the nature of your personal and business relationships with all of the Russian oligarchs you are “close” to?

9. Have you or your campaign discussed U.S.-Russian relations with the Russian billionaires with whom you've done business?

10. How did the Russian mob boss who ran a criminal organization out of Trump Tower get a VIP pass to your Miss Universe pageant in Moscow?

11. With business ties to politically-connected Indian developers, how can you conduct foreign policy that puts the U.S. above your profits?

12. How can we be sure you'd be willing to be tough on any nation if necessary, if it would put your interests and profits at risk?

13. How can we know you won't (again) impulsively damage relationships with crucial allies to preserve your own ego?

14. We know you engaged extensively in pay-to-play here at home. Have you bribed foreign officials or other parties abroad?

15. To what extent are you and your family currently contractually tied to payments from foreign business partners, or governments?

16. You've mentioned ~120 foreign deals, including in countries with national security implications. Where and with whom are you working?

17. Will your children disclose all of the foreign trips and business deals they've undertaken during the campaign, and with whom they met?

18. We'll let @kurteichenwald ask this one: (see tweet with clipping)

19. In sum, how will Trump guarantee that if forced to choose between America's security and his own bank account, he won't pick the latter?

20. It's pretty clear: Trump's spent his life unscrupulously looking out for his own wallet above all. Why would that change as president?

Mr. Trump will suddenly be willing to discuss his health in great detail, and attack the comment about the deplorable portion of his followers in great depth. Anything but do a press conference and answer these questions.

Take out the name Trump, Insert the name Clinton, The Clinton Foundation, The Clinton Global Inititive, add a few countries, like Saudi Arabia, a few other Middle Eastern and African Countries, Stir it all together and you have a real scandal.

Did I mention Putin gave Bill Clinton a personal thank you phone call after Bill made a speech in Russia,

Just to top off the Scandal add Colin Powells e-mails, about Hilliary's health and her lies about what he told her and her minions about e-mail accounts.

@Westbrook: couldn't bother to read it, could you?

Trump has massive conflicts of interest.

Hillary hasn't made a dime off her foundation - look at the last 45 years of their taxes - and show us which years she made money from the foundation that helps millions around the worlld. Now look at Trump's... oops! No taxes to look at! "Trump appears to have paid no taxes for two years in early 1990s" Web Link

Trump has massive conflicts of interest.

Try reading it.

"top off the Scandal add Colin Powells (sic) e-mails"

Really want to go there?

Former Secretary of State Colin Powell to former Secretary of State Condi Rice: "Benghazi is a stupid witch hunt. Basic fault falls on a courageous ambassador who thoughts Libyans now love me and I am ok in this very vulnerable place"

“Completely agree,” Rice replied, adding, “Let me know when you’re in town and we’ll have that glass of wine (or two).”

NBC: Powell called Trump a "national disgrace" and "international pariah" in a June 17 email to a former aide, saying the Republican presidential contender was "in the process of destroying himself"

A subsequent email to the same former aide on Aug. 21 slammed Trump for spurring the "racist" so-called "birther" movement — the consistently debunked rumor that President Barack Obama was born in another country.

"stupid witch hunt"

So the reports that the American Embassy in Benghazi made hundreds of requests for additional security Untrue?

The British pulled all their personal along with the Red Cross out of Benghazi due to security concerns. Untrue?

Clinton was the head of the state Dept. at the time Untrue?

Responsibility for the embassy's security falls on the U.S. State Dept. Untrue?

Clinton said the attack on the Embassy was the result of a video. True?

Be careful how much credibility you put in a man that was partially responsible for starting the war in Iraq based on a an unfounded story about Yellow Cake.
