Five years, four months in state prison for Menlo Park, Atherton burglar

A 24-year-old Menlo Park resident, Porfirio Cruz Jimenez-Pimental, was sentenced on Aug. 12 to five years and fours months in state prison for two counts of residential burglary at homes in Atherton and Menlo Park.

That sounds like a realistic sentence for 2 burglaries. However, if he'd raped someone, he'd only have gotten 6 months, out in 3. Our values are skewed!

Only if he was a college athlete with no prior convictions.

@Menlo Park: other -- That should read, "Only if he was a college athlete with no prior convictions *and goes before a judge that goes soft on sexual offenders*"
