The crosswalks on El Camino are just plain dangerous. It's six lanes of traffic and the signage just isn't sufficient. Pedestrians risk getting hit by motorists who just can't see that someone is trying to cross. Motorists who do obey the law and stop appropriately to let a pedestrian cross, risk getting rear ended by cars behind them who are surprised by the stop.

This is a good first step and I'm glad there is a crossing guard during the school year. In my opinion all of the crosswalks (more than just 3) need similar upgrades.

Good first step, but dont forget the real culprits - the speeders who drive El Camino 50 mil;es an hour or more always changing lanes. The police are doing a good job nailing some of them, but I would like to see them increase their presence
