Guest opinion: Exchanging trees for mansions in Menlo Park

The city of Menlo Park takes great pride in declaring itself as "Tree City USA." City ordinances contain a detailed description of what constitutes a "heritage tree," many of which are present in the Sharon Heights neighborhood in which we have lived since 1978.

I too am concerned about the number of heritage trees being removed from our city (and beyond). The city needs to prioritize our remaining canopy.
