Trump comes out against First Amendment's Freedom of Press

Original post made by Grand, Wallace, Menlo Park: other, on May 31, 2016

Today: "The press should be ashamed of themselves," he said, telling reporters, "You make me look very bad."

No, sir, they only report on your bragging and bullying. Making you look bad? That's on YOU.

"In announcing Tuesday that he had raised less for veterans groups than he had originally claimed, Donald Trump teed off on the the assembled political press, expresssed anger over the scrutiny, and at one point referred to a reporter as a "sleaze."

"What I don’t want is when I raise millions of dollars, have people say this sleazy guy right over here from ABC, he's a sleaze in my book — you're a sleaze because you know the facts and you know the facts well," said Trump."

more:

"The press is so dishonest and so unfair," he lamented.

After Trump complained that the press was "questioning" him over his fundraiser, reporters pressed Trump on his tendency to spew hate at journalists.

CNN's Jim Acosta told Trump, "You keep calling us the dishonest press, the disgusting press..."

"Generally speaking that's 100 percent true," Trump jumped in to say.

"I disagree with that, sir," Acosta responded. "If I can ask you this question, it seems like you're resistant to scrutiny, the kind of scrutiny that comes with running for President of the United States."

"I like scrutiny, but you know what?" Trump then said.

When Acosta tried to cut in again, Trump said, "Excuse me. I have watched you on television. You're a real beauty."

Trump added, "I don't want the credit for it but I shouldn't be lambasted."

What would the Almanac say if a local politico acted this way?

===============

Mr. Trump: quit claiming you support our veterans - show us.

Release your tax returns for the last ten years and then we can see how many dollars you donated (the Trump Foundation has failed veterans, let's see Trump's personal tax returns.)

Braggarts have to brag. Do it while running to lead our great nation and you have to do more than brag - WALK THE WALK and show us your tax returns.

Blowhard: see - all hat, no cattle.

I'm no Clinton fan, but here is a taste of what she offers our military - from the "Military Times":

A 23 point PLAN. Think Trump can even count to 23 without interruption to tell us how great he thinks he is? Me, neither.

Military Times:

"Her 23-point “Military Families Agenda” is unusual in its specificity about policies aimed at not just service members but their dependents, a topic that typically gets only passing mention at the national presidential campaign level. Clinton's campaign provided Military Times with an advance copy of the document.

But Clinton, the former secretary of State and frontrunner for the Democratic nomination, spells out in the document that supporting military families “helps our nation attract and retain the most talented service members” and is “vital to the strength of our military and the health of our nation.”

Among her plans are a promise of “enhanced gratuity payments” to families of service members killed on duty and an expansion of mental health care resources for the military community.

She would also make President Barack Obama’s Joining Forces initiative a permanent part of the White House executive office. The campaign, launched in 2011, is designed to raise awareness of military families’ sacrifices and challenges, and has focused in recent years on military spouse unemployment."

Wonder if The Donald would have an issue with *this* particular part of the press:

Hillarys 23 point plan is a BIT better than Trumps braggadocio.

A bit.

Donald's Trump inherent racism ("an American federal judge can't be fair because he is somehow a Mexican, but hey, the Hispanics otherwise have yuuuuuge love for me") makes one reflect back to the 2012 GOP Autopsy.

Which my GOP seems to have misplaced.

Look at all the Republicans who have endorsed and are willing to vote for the racist Trump.

Party before principle. Yay, America. My country t'is of thee...

I am heartbroken.

Trump bans news agencies from reporting.

"U.S. Republican (Party Leader) Donald Trump said on Monday he will no longer issue press credentials to the Washington Post, stopping the publication from gaining access to press areas at his presidential campaign events."

""Donald Trump's decision to revoke The Washington Post's press credentials is nothing less than a repudiation of the role of a free and independent press," the newspaper's editor, Marty Baron, said in a statement."

First they came for the reporters, but I wasn't a reporter.... Posted at numerous Holocaust memorials around the world:

"First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me."

Nixon's 'Enemies List' and 'Dirty Tricks' teams will look like pikers when it comes to a (shudder) Trump occupation of the United States Executive.

The narcissist holds a grudge, albeit with tiny hands.

That should be good enough to get me on his list, too!

But, they say, The Donald is so reeeeal!

Yeah: "New York-based Extra Mile Casting sent an email last Friday to its client list of background actors, seeking extras to beef up attendance at Trump's event."

So real.

Tiny hands real, always seeking attention and making up for something that isn't adequate?
