When the first MPPD officer was stabbed by the suspect, the suspect lunged at Officer Shannon trying to stab him in his heart. Larry fell backwards onto the ground to escape being stabbed and drew his weapon. The man came at Larry to stab him on the ground and Larry shot twice to stop the attacking man with the butcher knife. From his angle on his back on the ground, he shot upwards; one bullet hitting the suspect in his testicles and the other thru his penis. That's when the attacker stated to Larry, "Nice shot" and then collapsed from the shock of being wounded. The attacker survived and the first MPPD officer recovered and later returned to duty.
