Any news on bicycle/car incident

Original post made by ConcernedCitizen, another community, on Apr 3, 2016

Yesterday on my way over to Safeway in Menlo Park there was
an accident in the road at El Camino about a block south of
Safeway towards Palo Alto/Stanford Shopping Center where
a bicycle rider was knocked over by a motorist heading north
towards the Safeway in the lane nearest the median.

Is there any news or update. I hope the person on the bike is
OK. I have not heard any mention or report of this.

Here's more information: According to Nicole Acker, Menlo Park police spokesperson, a woman driving an Acura MDX was traveling northbound on El Camino Real going about 35 miles per hour. There was a green light, and it was not until she approached the intersection at Cambridge Avenue that she said she saw a bicycle crossing westbound in front of her. The bicyclist was not in the crosswalk but near it on the north side of the intersection, the driver said. She tried to stop but wasn't able to. The bicyclist was transported to Stanford Medical Center for non life-threatening injuries. Ms. Acker said the bicyclist was conscious and responded to the officer's questions. I hope that eases your concern, ConcernedCitizen!
