Rep. Jackie Speier would crack down on 'burner' phones

U.S. Rep. Jackie Speier, D-San Mateo, is trying to crack down on "burner" phones – unregistered pre-paid cellphones often used by terrorists, human traffickers and drug dealers.

good lord. do we have no privacy at all?
next step...toilets that take your dna and drug test you.
cash registers that check your bank balance.
ugh.

I agree, paranoidmuch. I remember years ago buying one during a terrible storm when my landline went out and I'd just lost my mobile. It was really useful. It's no ones business if I use a "burner" phone or not.
