Congratulations, Linda, on your years of work, often behind the scenes, which have benefited others even when we didn't know it!

I don't agree with Linda on many things, but she has been an active observer of the Sequoia Healthcare District and a supporter of efforts to seek a resolution of the Districts transitional status. And, she contributed this letter to the editor in support of one of my actions on the Board:Web Link">Web Link

On another subject, Linda said:
"There should be a regional agency that makes sense, with ideas for funding that are regional in nature," she said. "There should be people directly elected to a governing body."
That has particular significance in reference to the San Francisco Bay Restoration Authority(SFBRA). This Legislatively created agency, headed by a Committee of appointees, was given taxing powers over a nine county area.
From their website: Web Link
"The San Francisco Bay Restoration Authority is a regional government agency charged with raising and allocating resources for the restoration, enhancement, protection, and enjoyment of wetlands and wildlife habitat in the San Francisco Bay and along its shoreline. The Authority was created by the California legislature in 2008 with the enactment of AB 2954 (Lieber). On January 13, 2016, the Authority's Board unanimously voted to place a funding measure on the June 7, 2016 ballot in the nine-county Bay Area to generate funds to protect and restore San Francisco Bay."

Enjoy your retirement, Linda
