Council incumbents will seek re-election

Menlo Park City Council members Ray Mueller and Catherine Carlton have confirmed with the Almanac that they plan to run for re-election in November. They were both first elected in 2012 to four-year terms and their seats are the only two open in this year's Menlo Park council election.

I read your article with great interest. With regard to former council members spanning the political spectrum I found out after talking with some neighbors that Mickie Winkler was mostly a centrist and not really identified as being at either end of the political spectrum.

With regard to Gail Slocum none of my neighbors seem to know who she is. Can you please advise as to where on the political spectrum Ms. Slocum is most closely identified to being?

@New_to_Menlo_Park brings up a good point. We hope (the Almanac) will avoid these generalizations in the future. The aforementioned former mayors have each been registered as both Democrat and Republican.
