I think that if one is being followed aggressively, pulling into a police or fire station might be safer than a private residence.

Yes, especially since a turn to the west onto Ravenswood, rather than the east, would have nearly landed them on top of the MMPD station, in about 1500-2000 feet. Perhaps they were not local and unaware, or not thinking clearly due to the 'rage'.
Or there was something fishy going on....

SteveC: "Testosterone induced machoism" for the two drivers in the pursuing vehicle for sure. There is no mention of the gender of the people in the lead car. Maybe it was two women who were scared and knew someone at that house on Oak Grove? My guess is as good as yours.

The "road rage" may have been a planned pretext for the robbery.
Don't stop. Don't get out. Call 911. Tell 911 what happening and follow instructions. Get to safety.

Next time, use your cell phone to call 911 and drive to El Camino Real , honking the horn. The cops will be there in a flash and the bad guys will flee.

230 Oak Grove is in the first cul-de-sac a few houses down from M-A. My guess is, the driver of the lead car thought it was a through street when he saw the street sign and turned. When he reached the dead end, he had to turn around. It was a tight spot and dark, so the pursuing car was able to catch up with them.
