CBS SF Bay Area: Safeway Investigates Possible Card Skimming At Some Bay Area Stores

Original post made by shopper, Menlo Park: Downtown, on Dec 16, 2015

CBS News says ATM cards numbers and PIN numbers have been stolen from Menlo Park Safeway since September: Web Link

Editor's note: What CBS News actually reports is: "According to the Krebs on Security blog, bank industry sources said the fraud may involve Safeway locations in Castro Valley and Menlo Park." Emphasis ours.

Menlo Park police spokesperson Nicole Acker said: "I checked with our Detective unit and there are no cases involving card skimmers in our Safeway stores. Generally, the store would definitely report it to us and we would have an officer take a case. We don’t have any reports regarding this at either one of our Safeway stores."
