Sipping wine for a cause in Menlo Park

Santa Cruz Avenue witnessed an odd sight the afternoon of Saturday, Dec. 5. The toy store, Cheeky Monkey, was filled not with children playing (or pleading with their grown-ups for early holiday gifts), but with adults sipping wine and laughing amid the shelves of stuffed animals and games.

My wife and I enjoyed a couple hours of wine tasting while contributing to the educational fund. We were introduced to some new (to us) local wines, got to talk to winemakers and also to some of the shop owners. Hopefully there will be more events of this type in downtown Menlo Park in the future.
