Business: Village Stationers, Accent Arts to leave California Avenue

Two of California Avenue's independent retailers, whose stores have contributed to the small-town charm that has long characterized Palo Alto's so-called "second downtown," have announced they plan to move out.

so ironic - companies like Tableau move to cal ave partly because of it's quirky vibe only to drive up rents and kill the small businesses and little shops that attracted them in the first place. way of the world i suppose - at least my house doubles in value every 5 years.

So sorry to see Accent Arts go! I'd much rather shop at AA rather than online at Cheap Joes or driving miles up to FLAX. Plus, the folks are just so accommodating and kind to the customers. Please stay locally.
