Come on, did the trial actually start? Was there a last minute plea deal? I can't imagine that if it did go to trial that it would take more than a couple of days.

The hearing to decide on a trial date for Mr. Smith was put off until June 7, according to a May 25 report by Assistant DA Al Serrato.
