Let's see. The DeLeon team with $500,000.000 in sales at for example a 5% commission that $25,000,000.

How about a voter initiative to limit commissions on higher end sales? A $2,000,000 house is currently paying a $100,000 commission for a house that sells less in than 30 days. One could almost afford to sponsor an initiative for $100,000 if the realtors didn't do as they did with Prop M and outspend the citizens by a multiple of 10.

Ken DeLeon has obviously put together a great team who do a fantastic job for their clients. Why would that upset anyone not doing using their services. Maybe we should limit how much an individuAl can make in a successful start up. How silly, isn't this the land of opportunity for those who choose to work hard? Maybe frugal should think about moving if the idea of success is so offensive.
I never hired DeLeon but one of his clients bought a house I sold and I was pleased to get such a good price. I'm happy and from what I can see so are his clients. We are all Happy, Happy , Happy!! You don't have to hire him if you don't want, and who knows, maybe he discounts his commission although I doubt it since his nick name should be Ken 'Results' DeLeon.

resident2 is a registered user.

95% goes to the seller. The 5% is spilt 4 ways, buyer's broker and agent, seller's broker and agent. After taxes and business expenses the agent's net is in the range of 1%. The agents bring a lot of knowledge, negotiating skills and transaction ( liability) management. They're managing the sales of multi million dollar assets not used cars. Very smart people use realtors and are more than happy with the results. I am.
