Show no mercy towards fire works and discharged fire arms, especially with High Fire Danger in effect..

Thanks you Atherton and Menlo Park police Departments for focusing on this! Illegal firework use seems to be more prevalent every year, and not just on July 4th! Redwood City has a big problem!

I'm sorry but I have great memories growing up in the Bay Area of fireworks and firecrackers. Me thinks that too many people are too paranoid about everything. Nothing wrong with a few assorted sparklers and incendiary devices. After all, it is our country's birthday. We should celebrate it before the rest of our freedoms are taken away.

I have the same memories, but we're in a severe drought.

Fireworks and drought have nothing to do with each other. We've had droughts before in California and we will have droughts again. This is just government taking more fun away from us. Happy 239th Birthday, America!

have you ever had your roof set on fire by idiots using fireworks? I have and it's not pleasant and it's not cheap to fix. Roofs in this area have seen very little water for the last three years. They are tinder dry. All it takes is an errant spark and up goes the roof.

A drone crash lead to a big grass fire today over on the Stanford campus. This is no joke. Just one spark can lead to a LOT of damage. No fireworks/firearms over the weekend in Menlo Park/Atherton/Palo Alto, please!!!
