Clean up your dog poop!

Original post made by Disgusted, Menlo Park: Central Menlo Park, on Jul 1, 2015

When I walk my dog around Menlo Park I am disgusted by how much dog poop is left for someone else to deal with. This morning I saw several poops (large and small) in plain sight on the astroturf by Fremont Park. There is no way a person could miss their dog's business here. Menlo Park Municipal Code requires all people to clean up after their dog -- please do your part!
-----------------------------------
Menlo Park Municipal Code 9.12.030 Canine feces.
(a) No owner or possessor of any dog shall cause or permit it to defecate upon public property of the city unless the owner or the person having control or custody of the dog immediately removes the feces and properly disposes of it. No owner or possessor of any dog shall cause or permit it to defecate upon the private property of another person without the consent of the occupant or owner of that property.

(b) No person shall walk a dog upon public property or upon the private property of another without carrying, at all times, a suitable container or other suitable instrument for the removal and disposal of canine feces. Visually disabled persons who use Seeing-Eye dogs are exempt from this section. (Ord. 758 ยง 1 (part), 1987).

Disgusted is correct. I am a devoted dog owner (pet parent) If people want to have the freedom to take their dogs with them and places where dogs can congregate off leash they should be responsible for the waste. All too often we see people leave dog waste where someone can step in it. Come on people do we really have to point this out. Lets get a clue and be considerate
