Great news, but what happened to the County's VA services office on Harbor Blvd. in Belmont? Is this commission something different, or in addition to? I truly hope the nine people appointed to this Veterans commission are all Veterans themselves. Will these commission members be working on a volunteer basis? Or, will they receive salaries? And, if so, how much? I am totally into supporting our Veterans, I am just wondering if the commission members will be doing something new and different that the current County VA office is not already doing. Any information anyone can provide would be deeply appreciated.

Dave Boyce: Thank you for providing the two web links offering further info about the SMCO Veterans Commission. I still have questions, such as what will be the salaries paid to these commissioners? I thought the SMCO Veterans Affairs Department, the Federal Veterans Affairs Department, as well as our elected officials, all already participate in our Veterans' interests as is described herein. Is this a duplication of efforts by different agencies and our elected officials? I thought that our local and federal Veterans Affairs offices were already handling these kinds of Veterans issues. I will write to the SMCO Board of Supervisors in an effort to get more information, and a clearer picture of what is going on here in our desire and efforts to support our Veterans.
