Coroner releases name of man killed by train in Atherton

The San Mateo County Coroner's Office has released the name of the man who was struck and killed by a train at the Atherton station on Sunday afternoon.

My condolences to his family and friends for this tragic death.

I would also note the other silent victims of this death - the train engineer and the fire and police first responders. This is probably not the first such tragedy for either the train engineer or the fire and police first responders - and it will, sadly, not be the last. They must time and time again take their memories home with them and then be ready to serve us the very next day. Please keep them in your thoughts.
