Caltrain ridership hits new high

The annual head count of riders on Caltrain found that the average weekly number of passengers has hit 58,245 -- a 71 percent increase since 2010, the agency announced.

This article is wrong. The extra cars added on May 11 do NOT have extra space for bicyclists. Caltrain has promised more bicycle capacity at some time, but probably not this year.

If you're thinking of taking your bicycle on Caltrain for tomorrow's Bike To Work Day, don't be surprised if the conductor refuses to let you on (even after you paid for your ticket) because the train is too crowded.

58,245 peeps not trying to get a lift on 101, or using their own autos.

Time to add more trains!!

Speaking of... not sure if the ad provider for the Almanac serves up the same ads for all viewers (it's google, so I doubt it) but I've been seeing an ad lately for SP's 2472, now living over in Niles Canyon (the green ad on the right side of this page, if it is delivered to you.)

Check it out - it is a real peice of history!
