The answer is quite a bit simpler and easier to implement than the options being discussed. Ravenswood should be one way heading northbound only and Oak Grove should be southbound only. Cars on Ravenswood get stuck due to left turning cars waiting for an opening and traffic lights on red.

The very fact that we are discussing a 2004 Grade Separation Feasibility Study in 2015 is a disgrace.

@ Mike D - what is "north" and "south" in your scenario? Ravenswood should be one-way, aimed towards the hills and away from the bay, from Laurel towards the tracks and past El Camino. It is easy for traffic going that direction to see pedestrians in the crosswalk at Alma and to clear the intersection at Alma. Traffic on Ravenswood going away from El Camino towards Alma and Laurel have a very difficult time seeing traffic trying to turn onto Alma and pedestrians in the crosswalk at Alma. I think of "west" (towards the hills), but fear that this is really "south" and not the direction you propose. One-way is good, but not away from the hills on Ravenswood.
