Host an AFS Exchange Student. Gain a global family member for a lifetime!

Original post made by Susan Allen, Menlo Park: other, on Mar 20, 2015

Hosting a foreign exchange student can be an amazing, heart-warming, and wonderful learning experience for your family--and it is often a profoundly life-changing experience for the hosted student. It is not necessary for you to have kids, a big house, or the ability to speak a foreign language. You just need to provide a caring home environment and a separate bed for the student, and complete the registration and interview process with AFS. "We learned anew about our country, as we started to see it through our exchange student's eyes." Web Link

We currently have great kids who are seeking placements with U.S. families for the 2015-2016 school year. They come from many different countries, and they have varied backgrounds and interests, but they share one thing--a desire to come and experience life with a U.S. host family. To learn how you can host, please visit www.afsusa.org or contact Kristin Southard – Ksouthard@afsusa.org.
