Please consider signing the petition that Protect Our Watershed--San Mateo County! just started...
ANYONE can sign no matter where you live or your age, as these are public roadways :
Web Link
Caltrans maintains Hwy.84, Hwy. 35 (Skyline), Hwy. 280, 92, 101 and Hwy.1...you will NOT know when or what they are spraying, as they do NOT (and will not despite many requests) provide any ON road notifications before, during or after herbicide applications. You might be driving behind the spray truck, or bicycling, when they are spraying.
If you see a 2--6 foot wide line of dead vegetation along the roadsides, that is how you know it has been done.
You will not see this right away, usually 3-5 days later. It is time to end this toxic risk to public health and our local environment. A petition is one way that other communities ended this, so please help us spread the word, and watch for our website which will be up soon. Thank you to all who are voicing their concerns, and to Barbara Wood and the Almanac !
