Tonight in Atherton: Forum eyes regional traffic problems

A public forum about innovative ways to deal with regional traffic problems, featuring a speaker from the Grand Boulevard Initiative and officials from Menlo Park, Atherton, Redwood City and San Mateo County, will be held in Atherton at 6 p.m. Monday, March 16.

Traffic around Atherton is an important issue that gets stuck on city jurisdictional issues. The Alameda is badly backed up at Atherton Ave. in the morning and evening rush hours, and a traffic light is badly needed. Alameda's a major thoroughfare and I hope that Atherton officials will acknowledge that something needs to be done.
