Proud of my Portola Valley leadership today!
Stanford cannot make this watershed-impacting decision in a bubble.
It's time for Stanford to protect the creeks and wildlife that we all share….. and they are legally required to protect.
Glad the town will ensure Stanford removes this relic dam and harmful, century old technology.
What an amazing opportunity for Jasper Ridge research too!

Good job PV. Now let's see how "green" and "sustainable" Stanford really is. Seriously?! A big dam and polluted reservoir in your nature "Preserve" and blocking endangered wildlife migration…. wow. Remove the dam already, it's 2015, not 1900.

People need to realize that removing the dam will not be easy. There will need to be hundreds of truck loads of sediment hauled through the neighboring town and it will take years before there is a debris free flow downstream. During this process it will be difficult for any upstream fish migration and spawning.
Long term we will be better without the dam but short term it will be much worse than the status quo.
