Big Snowstorm - is Frosty okay?

Original post made by The Snowman, Menlo Park: Sharon Heights, on Jan 27, 2015

We usually get a "where's your so-called global warming, lookit all da snow!!!" post from Frosty or one of his alter egos by this point... one hopes he (he/they) are okay.

Of course everyone now gets that Climate Change is real, so perhaps Frosty's done, as well.

Good news for the East Coast - it appears that forecasts were a little too pessimistic.

I suspect that Frosty is discombobulated.

Every GOP senator voted to affirm the existence of global warming.

What's a denier to do?

Maybe with whacko senator Ted Cruz in chsrgr of the committee that oversees NASA, frosty can hope that Cruz starts the investigation into Obama's role in the shuttle disasters.

Challengergazhigate. Hillary's guilty too.

The earth is going through a current warming trend. But is is truly unsettled whether the anthropogenic component is significant. We only know that it is warming and can npt say with any degree of certainty that mankind is the cause. Also, when you state tghe highest levels in recorded history that is a bit disingenuous. Since recorded history only goes back to 1880 and the earth has been around for hundreds of millions of years, we can state with 100% certainty that the earth has been a lot warmer than it is today with no anthropogenic component.

For instance Greenland was once green and had many farming communities operating year round. But the research scientists need that grant money and will give the Government the answwer it wants as long as the grant money keeps on flowing.

"We only know that it is warming and can npt say with any degree of certainty that mankind is the cause."

Bull. Says who?

If you put 100 scientists in a room, over 90 will say YOU ARE WRONG Web Link

From NOAA: "The year 2014 was the warmest year across global land and ocean surfaces since records began in 1880. ... This also marks the 38th consecutive year (since 1977) that the yearly global temperature was above average. Including 2014, 9 of the 10 warmest years in the 135-year period of record have occurred in the 21st century. 1998 currently ranks as the fourth warmest year on record." Web Link

Let's read that again:

>>> 9 of the 10 warmest years recorded have occurred in the 21st century.

9 of the 10 warmest years recorded have occurred in the 21st century.

Wow.

9 of the 10 warmest years recorded have occurred in the 21st century.

Flat Earther,

Chill out (no pun intended). Dem did not say that the earth was not getting warmer. In fact he/she leads with "The earth is going through a current warming trend". You repeat what Dem says as if you are proving him/her wrong. You only reaffirmed what Dem said.

Dem's argument was that the degree of global warming attributed to man can not be ascertained. None of your arguments even mention the anthropogenic component of global warming.

You may as well try to convince the Pope that Jesus wasn't the son of God.

This topic has become religion and everything is explained by climate change.

And the issue for many - including many scientists - is man's RELATIVE contribution to this change, not the fact that the earth's climate is changing. The earth's climate is ALWAYS changing.

Whaaaa????

>> None of your arguments even mention the anthropogenic component of global warming.

Didn't you read Flat Earthers post and the link?!?!??

>> If you put 100 scientists in a room, over 90 will say YOU ARE WRONG Web Link

from the link:

>> found that of the 13,950 articles in peer-reviewed journals, only 24 rejected anthropogenic global warming.

So Flat Earther is sort of wrong in saying 90 of 100 scientists say it's caused by man -- it's really far more conclusive, more like 99% of peer reviewed articles in science journals.

Only 24 of 13,950 peer reviewed articles deny it the way Frosty, HL, et al, deny it. Maybe the most important stat is 5 of 5. The deniers listen to only 5 news sources: Fox, Rush, Beck, Heartland/Koch and Exxon.

This is crazy, like republican politicians claiming they don't know that climate change is caused by man BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT SCIENTISTS!!

If you are not a scientist, then you ought listen to SCIENTISTS!!!

And scientists say climate change is being caused by man.

Note - yes, climate has always slowly evolved. What's happening in our lifetime is not SLOW.

Love the false equivalency given by the 'thoughtful' crowd. They want to appear even-handed, so they give dumb statements even weight - even when such a high preponderance of scientists have shown us the facts. So sentiments like "relative contribution" may seem even handed until you look at the science.

The only thing deniers have in their favor, on a 9 of 10 scale, is that of their relative few studies that argue their point.... 9 of 10 are funded by Oil and Coal. ie... "The problem is, of the top ten contributors of articles to that list, nine are financially linked to Exxon Mobil." Web Link
