Who should we support to be the next U.S. Senator

Original post made by Political Observer, Menlo Park: Central Menlo Park, on Jan 11, 2015

With Senator Boxer's recent announcement that she will not run for another term as U.S. Senator it opens the door for many possibilities. Who do you think should be the next U.S. Senator to represent the Golden State?

I am more interested in who might run locally for the State Assembly with Rich Gordon terming out in 2016. I actually get to speak to my Assembly person. I have never met a U.S. Senator.

Who SHOULD be? Or who WILL be?

SHOULD is a term that is going to be defined buy one's political leanings.

And the reality of Blue CA is that it WILL be Kamela or Antonio. Unless Gavin and Kamela can't deal, and he also runs.

The only question will be which republican shows third. And if there is a 2nd 'popular' republican splitting his votes, the question will be: can a republican even show THIRD?

Virginia Chang Kiraly ran for Assembly in 2006. She should try again. She is well known and admired by Democrats and Republicans alike. She is always willing to compromise to reach effective solutions and gets along well with just about everybody. She is a great leader who fosters loyalty among those who work with her, is modest, gives credit for achievments to those who help her, and never hogs the limelight. She has an empathetic nature, never loses her temper, nor has nary an ill word to say about anybody.

In short, Virinia Chang Kiraly is the ideal candidate for the 24th Assembly District. We are so fortunate to have a person of such vision, perspicacity, strength, sereneness, scruples, and compassion living in our district. Run, Virginia, run!
