Police calls: Thief makes off with electric wheelchair

Thieves purloined a wheelchair, greeting cards and a customized clock in this week's crime reports for Menlo Park and Atherton.

One begins to wonder that with the prevalence of property crimes, excluding those due to owner carelessness, more police activity might be devoted to solving some and less on giving parking and traffic violations. Of course that would impact the income of the police department, so we know what the priorities are. - In general, property crimes are ignored, unless the victim has real influence.

And pray tell how would the police have stopped them? Crystal ball, psychic?
