What were these foolish administrators thinking, or NOT, when they sold San Carlos High School a few years ago? Remember this foolish lack of foresight when the schools come begging to the taxpayers for yet more money!

How much did the district make from selling the land where old Ravenswood High stood?

@Remembering: selling SCHS 20 years ago and now buying a replacement property, sounds like the stupid scheme the guv cooked up in 2010 to sell 11 state properties and rent them back.
Ridiculous. What a 'maroon'.

Why comment on what happened about 30 years ago with the old SanCarlos HS? The current school administration didn't make that decision. Comments about the past also doesn't make the increasing school population go away. Luckily, in spite of the ever increasing cost of real estate on the peninsula, people still want their children to go to good public schools. The question should be, is the only way to effectively deal with the increase to add the two proposed small high schools in addition to building out the larger schools facilities?

Dear "concerned reader", the administration has nothing to do with these decisions. The elected officials are responsible. The current board should reflect on mistakes of their predecessors. Ravenswood High was built years after Menlo Atherton High, but was shut down after only 18 years. Can you imagine building a house on a 30 year mortgage, then tearing it down to sell the lot in less than 20 years.
