PetSmart employee, boyfriend sentenced to 29 years in prison

A former San Carlos PetSmart employee and her boyfriend were sentenced to a total of 29 years in prison Thursday morning for a series of break-ins at homes they learned were vacant when the residents' pets were boarded at PetSmart.

I do not understand why the women in these types of cases always gets a much more lenient sentence. From where i stand, she was more guilty since she orchestrated the locations through her job.

@concerned - unless the information is wrong it is because he is a known gang member. This allows for an enhancement. The 'known' is the key element (versus possibly a gang member.) Of course with good behavior, it is half the sentence and to keep him safe they will also keep with him with known Norteno gang members.
