Portola Valley: Potentially hazardous trees may be downed by year's end

While the exact number of trees living in Portola Valley is not known, there is now one tree-related number that is: 31.

This is wonderful.... I'm glad that they found this PG&E money to pay for it. The big eucalyptus trees in town are such an incredible fire hazard... I will sleep better when they are gone.

We have long needed an open discussion about the importance of balancing of trees, types of trees, potentially inappropriate/hazardous trees and other equally valid competing interests such as "view shed," the value of space and wide open vistas. I believe there is a way to work through this positively and productively.
