I have been expecting this action for months as this has been the SaveMenlo plan all along. Canot get your way. Then file an initiative. Cannot win an argument. Llaunch personal attacks and spin the truth. Cannot win on a vote. Sue the City. This self-centerd and self-righeous group will continue to cost our City big-time. What a waste of time and money. I hope residents have a long memory, they will need it.

SaveMenlo hopes their 11th hour suit might make you think your vote does not matter. This SHOULD incent even more voters to register their opposition.

Classic Heyward......being on the wrong side of ballot initiatives must make him feel comfortable. Wrong side of Measure L, and now WRONG side of Measure M.......so when the public goes against you....sue them. Man it's good he got thrown off council!

Of boy, here we go again...another frivolous law suit. And just how much is this going to cost the City, Council Members and ultimately taxpayers and residents or Menlo Park? And exactly who paid for the "legal" complaint that Heyward filed? His expertise or Save Menlo's? This seems to be political grandstanding and posturing six days before election. Shame on him...shame of Save Menlo and those who object to any positive change for Menlo Park.

I wonder how many residents who are either committed or inclined to vote "yes" on Measure M actually support Heyward Robinson's new suit against the City of Menlo Park? Are you willing to go down this path regardless of the outcome of the vote on November 4? Did Heyward share his plan to sue the City with you or are you learning about it after the fact? Willing to fight your own city government? Willing to subject our City to this burden and accept the consequences? I wonder.

I try to be even keeled re city issues - we respect opinions - but this is over the top. What could be more shameful than a former council member and mayor (1) tying up city administration w a "public records request" of tens of thousands of documents, then (2) filing a legal action against his own city for not agreeing with his opinions? I've seen Heyward repeatedly bully staff, the public and fellow council members (its on youtube) so no real surprise here; having tied up a hundred people with the flagrant distortions of a (once well-intended) ballot initiative, he now ties up city admin. Heyward, the attorney who has to review every document you requested is $500 fricking dollars per hour. You gonna pay for that??

I did not sue the City. I filed a complaint with the San Mateo County Grand Jury. Do you know the difference? Please correct you inflammatory headline to reflect the facts.

I hope that all of you will take the time to read the complaint. Its available on the City’s website. The issues go well beyond Measure M and this election. Public agencies cannot take sides in elections. The City of Menlo Park crossed the line. Everyone should care about this, regardless of you political views.

Peter, you fashion yourself as a government watchdog. You can demonstrate that you are true to your principles by joining me in asking the grand jury to investigate.

I stand corrected - Robinson filed a "Complaint" not a "lawsuit".

The lawsuit is next on Save Menlo's agenda to Stop Menlo - sorry to have spilled the beans.

I also want to correct my earlier comment that referred to Heyward's complaint as a suit. A complaint is NOT a suit but likely a precursor. Thanks for pointing this out. Facts matter.
