Has Save Menlo violated the election laws - again?

Original post made by Peter Carpenter, Atherton: Lindenwood, on Oct 29, 2014

A number of individuals have reported that they are illegally being listed as Measure M supporters when all the did was sign the initiative petition.

Here is the law:
"Elections Code Section 18650.

No one shall knowingly or willfully permit the list of signatures on an initiative, referendum, or recall petition to be used for any purpose other than qualification of the initiative or referendum measure or recall question for the ballot, except as provided in Section 6253.5 of the Government Code. Violation of this section is a misdemeanor."

Save Menlo has failed to comply with disclosure requirements on its signs and, until over a month after I challenged them on this, on their web site pages. Now they are illegally using people's names as supporters. Is there no end to what they will do?

Are these the people that we want writing new laws?
