Voter info available to candidates, journalists

Original post made on Oct 27, 2014

It may come as a surprise to voters that much of the information they provide when they register to vote (including name, party affiliation and address) can be legally obtained by candidates and ballot measure committees, as well as scholars and journalists. They also can find out whether or not you voted.

hello? I would like to know more about the relationship between Ray Meuller, Peter Ohtaki and the NO on M Political Action Committee located at 68 Willow,Rd aka Hello Startup. Seems like a very cozy relationship between the PAC and the Menlo Park City council. if voter information is shared, then surely the voters are entitled to know about our elected officials and who is funding their campaigns. Hello Greenheart!

Indeed and ALL of that information is in the public record and much of it has been reported on in the press. Or did you not bother to look?

Above writer " Hello Mayor and PAC " brings up a very serious issue. Just what is the cozy relationship between Mayor Meuller and Councilman Ohtaki.

Everyone should take 2 minutes and view the YouTube Video:

The first such facility in Menlo Park, HelloStartups occupies prime space within walking"

Sponsored by Greenheart (their office is 68 Willow Road) here we have Mayor Meuller and Ohtaki wholeheartedly supporting "Hello Startup", sponsored by Greenheart. We are sure to get a unbiased review of these plans when they come before Council ---WHAT A JOKE.

Disgusting...

Vote Yes on M

Kick out the incumbents... we need a new council....

I presume the above anonymous poster believes that it is the job of the council to discourage new Menlo Park business. No wonder she supports Measure M which is cleverly designed to paralyze the staff, council and the city.

Comments made above by Atherton resident are without merit.

1. We certainly don't really know who are sponsoring so much of the No on M campaign. All we know about Greenheart , LLC is that many who might be sharholders in the LLC, are effectively invisible from the public eye, since they are hiding behind the LLC, corporate veil.

2. There is a huge gap between a council person encouraging a group, and appearing in a video about a entity, whose offices are located in the Greenheart office, and the Greemheart project will appear before council approval sometime in the future. Shame on Meuller and Ohtaki.

That is because you cannot read since all of that information is publicly available.
Of course, you have to actually look at it.

You can lead a horse to water but....

It's all public record. [portion removed] actually read it instead of believing everything you think.

What about "Save Menlo Park"? Sure, Patti Fry seems like a diligent voter, but that would be good to know for sure. Mike Lanza on the other hand- that guy acts like 2014 is the first time El Camino Real is an elections topic. Did he vote in 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012, when Council races were pretty much all about that? If he did vote, get a quote of him reacting to candidate statements about how El Camino was the defining issue of that year.

Atherton resident Carpenter and Menlo Voter:

Ok smart guys... you please show me the list of shareholders in Greenheart, LLC. I have spent some time trying to find their identities without success.

Are either or both or you shareholders in Greenheart LLC? So put up or shut up with the "Its all a public record crap". Show me the shareholder list of Greenheart LLC.

I can't speak for Peter, but I'm not a share holder in Greenheart. In fact I have no financial stake in either of the projects or anything else in the DSP area. And I'm not going to do your homework for you. Start here: Web Link
