Measure M is an attack on representative government and civic involvement

Original post made by Peter Carpenter, Atherton: Lindenwood, on Oct 11, 2014

Measure M would destroy the ability of the elected City Council to negotiate better projects for the benefit of the entire community, not just a handful of Allied Arts residents, and would invalidate the 6 years long effort by thousands of residents to produce a very carefully vetted and debated Specific Plan.

Measure M freezes FOREVER ten definitions and a number of poorly considered limits (like the 100,000 sq ft per PROJECT limit when no single existing parcel in the DSP area allows that much sq ft).

Measure M prevents FOREVER the rebuilding of the downtown fire station unless there is an expensive city wide vote to correct this "unintentional consequence"

Measure M is a huge Mistake.
