At last someone who can explain Measure M

Original post made by Peter Carpenter, Atherton: Lindenwood, on Oct 6, 2014

Paul Collacchi's recent email on Measure M has the following signature line:

"Any scientist who can't explain to an eight-year old what he is doing is a charlatan." Felix Hoenikker, Cat's Cradle

Perhaps Collacchi can explain Measure M's ten frozen forever definitions clauses to an eight-year old.

Perhaps Collacchi can explain Measure M's reason for the "frustrate" clause to an eight-year old.

Perhaps Collacchi can explain to an eight-year old why Measure M requires a city wide vote to merge the two adjacent parcels that the Fire District wants to use for a new downtown fire station.

Perhaps Collacchi can explain to an eight-year old why Measure M's 100,000 sq ft per PROJECT limit on office space will not simply encourage owners of multiple adjacent projects to develop each of their parcels separately with each parcel have a different design and its own ECR access and no public benefits.

Peter Carpenter is a registered user.

Perhaps Collachi can get some help from Bressler on the reasons for including the "frustrate" clause in Measure M -
"Consistent with the Planning and Zoning Law and applicable case law, the City shall not adopt any other new provisions or amendments to the Policy Planning Documents that would be inconsistent with or FRUSTRATE the implementation of the voter-adopted development standards and definitions set forth in Section 3, above, absent voter approval of a conforming amendment to those voter-adopted provisions."

Here is what Bressler has stated:
"Measure M is a down payment. There are a number of steps that we must take as a community to get control over our government and future."

These folks do not intend to stop.

Save Menlo got everything that they asked for in their original petition to Stanford:

And now they want Measure M.

And after that they want even more -"Measure M is a down payment."

Where will it all end?
