City Council in control and in charge on Stanford project

Original post made by Peter Carpenter, Atherton: Lindenwood, on Sep 29, 2014

Here is the CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING AGENDA for 30 Sept:

B. SPECIAL BUSINESS
B1. Staff presentation regarding the 500 El Camino Real Traffic Analysis, Council discussion of appropriate next steps which City Council may desire to take
(Staff report #14-180)
B2. Report from Stanford Parcel Negotiation Subcommittee and Council discussion of appropriate next steps which City Council may desire to take

********
Clearly the Council is in control and in charge with respect to the Stanford project and it is ALL being done in PUBLIC.

Well done, Mayor and Councilmembers.

The 500 ECR traffic report was posted yesterday.
The absentee ballots arrive next week.
The election is in just over a month.
Tomorrow was the only day available for this meeting before late in October due to previously scheduled vacations of key staff.

The Council did ABSOLUTELY the right thing to properly notice a Special Meeting on this important topic.

The alternative would have been to delay action on this report until after many people had already voted - which is exactly what the Measure M people would have liked because their real agenda is for nothing to happen, ever.

And for the Council to demonstrate that it IS in charge and IS in control of orderly development under the Specific Plan is the last thing that the Measure M supporters want.

Don't miss out on the discussion!
