"The simplest answer, Zuckerberg said, is that technology is where all the jobs will be in the future."
Ugh! I understand STEM is important. But is it so important that humanities should be dismissed? If technology is where *all* the jobs will be, our society is doomed. Will there come a day when we don't need nurses, doctors, social workers, therapists, artists, car mechanics, teachers, etc because technology is where all the jobs are? I hope not.

RW: "The simplest answer, Zuckerberg said, is that technology is where all the jobs will be in the future." Let's ignore the fact that RW's quote was not uttered by Mr Zuck.
"Ugh! I understand STEM is important. But...." But, but, but, but...
But you want a more nuanced answer, about the value of a liberal arts education, the value of the arts and history, etc..., right?
Then take a bit of advice: if you are looking for nuance, don't fret when someone tells you they're going to bumpersticker the answer for you. Worse, don't fret when the subject of the article didn't use those actual words.
Mark's company hires a lot of folks who have English degrees, and many who are graphic artists, etc.. More, his platform employs many of the same in companies that depend on FB.
RW: "If technology is where *all* the jobs..." You are fretting over the (hyperbolic) "all" inserted by the reporter.
[Portion removed; don't be snide with other posters.]
"...if you want to have a better chance of getting a job ... and if you want to get a job that pays more, then being proficient in technology and knowing some basic things about how to use computers and use basic programming ... is going to be really critical to having a lot of options and doing what you want in the future."

Mark's security dorks need to stop bothering people on the street. Oh, wait, they're employed in non-tech jobs.

I can't believe this. Is there really anyone who takes Mark Zuckerberg seriously?
