Menlo Park Legends show grace under fire

Original post made by L. Wilson, Menlo Park: other, on Jun 24, 2014

I recently attended the SLO Blues vs. Menlo Park Legends baseball game in SLO and want to congratulate the Legends for their behavior at the game. A SLO Blues fan heckled the players throughout the game - beyond the normal sports comments that are occasionally made during a game. He was drinking heavily and he and his friends thought he was hilarious. Other fans were annoyed, and even his wife/girlfriend got up and left after he told her if she didn't like it, she could move her seat. Unfortunately, she left her two young boys in his care even though he had already had several beers.
The Legends and their fans showed great restraint and grace under fire. I congratulate them for their good sportsmanship and wish them success in future games. I was hoping they would win - but they lost by only one run.
My compliments to the coach, their fans and players - and my apologies for the behavior of our local obnoxious fan.
