Write-in candidate for sheriff gets 997 votes

The votes are in. Deputy Sheriff Juan Lopez received 997 votes in his campaign to unseat incumbent Sheriff Greg Munks in the June 3 election. Mr. Lopez received 1.43 percent of the total, according to a report from the San Mateo County Elections Office.

"He arrived at the Elections Office after it had closed." Hmm, he doesn't sound on the ball. I want a sheriff who acts in an efficient and timely manner. Poor organization just doesn't instill confidence.
