Menlo Park council passes $72 million budget

Responding to pleas for mercy, the Menlo Park City Council unanimously passed a budget for the upcoming 2014-15 fiscal year that includes some flexibility for the city to convert two temporary positions related to development to permanent ones, in hopes of stemming turnover.

wow, this is just a drop in the bucket for all of the gazillionaires who live here. operated the city on this budget. what is needed is to level the playing field. can people actually afford to be in Menlo park?

Rather than create full time positions with the related retirement obligations, why not outsource the positions? Offer them long term contacts if necessary.
